Steel Mezzanine Floor Fabricator
SV Steel is a steel mezzanine floor fabricator for commercial and industrial buildings across London and the South East. We fabricate the full steel structure, primary beams, secondary joists, columns and bracing, to your engineer's loading design, under a BS EN 1090-1 Execution Class 2 (EXC2) controlled process.
What we make
- Full steel mezzanine structure: primary beams, secondary joists, columns and bracing
- Fabricated to your engineer's imposed floor loading, for storage, plant or office use
- Access staircases, handrails, edge protection and pallet gates to suit
- Fabricated to BS EN 1090-1 Execution Class 2 (EXC2) under audited factory production control
- Co-ordinated with the building structure, escape routes and fire strategy
A mezzanine adds floor area without extending the building, but it is a load-bearing structure that has to satisfy building control on structure, escape and fire. We fabricate the steel to your engineer's approved design under Execution Class 2, and deliver the staircase, handrails and edge protection as one package, so the whole floor is made by one accountable team.

Steel Mezzanine Floors: common questions
- Do you design steel mezzanine floors or fabricate to our design?
- We fabricate to your structural engineer's design and can co-ordinate the detailing in-house. If you need the mezzanine designed, we'll work with your engineer on the member sizes, connections and loading so the finished floor meets your brief.
- What floor loading can a steel mezzanine be built for?
- A steel mezzanine is designed to the imposed loading its use requires, from lighter office and retail floors to heavy storage, racking and plant loadings. The loading is set by your engineer's design and we fabricate the structure to match it. Share your loading requirement with an enquiry.
- Do mezzanine floors need building regulations approval?
- Most commercial mezzanines need Building Regulations sign-off covering the structure, means of escape and fire protection, and larger floors may need the columns fire-protected. We fabricate the steel to the approved design; your building control and fire strategy set the requirements. Our guide on mezzanine design and regulations explains more.
- Can you supply the staircase and handrails for the mezzanine?
- Yes. We fabricate the access staircase, handrails, edge protection and pallet gates as part of the mezzanine package, all to BS EN 1090-1, Execution Class 2 (EXC2).
- Where do you install steel mezzanine floors?
- We fabricate and erect steel mezzanine floors across London and the South East, for warehouses, industrial units, offices and retail, from our works in Denham, West London.
