Structural steel detailing & connection design
SV Steel turns your architect and structural engineer drawings into fabrication-ready detailing (shop drawings, 3D models and connection design), so your steelwork is modelled accurately before a single section is cut.
What we do
- Fabrication-ready shop drawings and 3D modelling
- Connection design co-ordinated with your structural engineer
- Clash detection against architectural and services models
- Drawing approvals managed before fabrication starts
Accurate detailing is where steel jobs are won or lost. Modelling the frame before fabrication catches clashes and connection issues early, when they cost nothing, not on site, where they cost weeks. Send us your drawings and we'll take them through to fabrication.

Design & Steel Detailing: common questions
- Who is responsible for connection design?
- Connection design can sit with the structural engineer or be delegated to the fabricator. We co-ordinate connection design with your engineer so responsibility is clear and the connections suit how we fabricate and erect.
- What drawings should I send for detailing?
- Your structural engineer's general arrangement drawings, member sizes and design intent, plus architectural drawings for co-ordination. The more complete the information, the faster and more accurate the detailing.
